Orthotics

What are Orthotics?

Orthotics are custom made soles that fit in shoes, molded to form to your foot. They serve to reduce abnormal biomechanics of the foot, preventing and helping a number of injuries that are primarily effected  by abnormal foot motion.

Some of the most common injuries that can be reduced or completely prevented by the application of foot orthotics are as follows:

  • “Flat feet” or foot pronation
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Heel spur
  • Mortons neuroma
  • Metatarsalgia
  • Shin splints
  • Achilles tendonitis
  • Illiotibial (IT) Band Syndrome
  • Chronic  hip, or SI joint pain
  • Knee pain

Most orthotics are covered by your health care plan. If you would like more information as to whether orthotics are right for you, please contact the clinic at 403 244-6444.
