Motor Vehicle Accidents
Got in a car accident?
You do not need to see your medical doctor to get immediate care:
Dr. Guthrie can assess and diagnose your injuries and submit the required forms to your insurance to begin the process of treatment immediately.
Even if you don't feel too bad following a mild car accident, it is smart to get assessed. Often times, car accident injuries can actually worsen one to two months after the initial injury, as the scar tissue surrounding a whiplash injury begins to tighten.
Immediate treatment, even for minor injuries, can prevent a more significant long term outcome.
If you have booked an appointment for a NEW motor vehicle accident please expect to arrive early to fill out multiple forms.
What to Bring:

Please bring your Insurance information, your accident claim number and claims advisor number (if you have this) as well as any additional forms (called an AB1 form) you have already filled out for the car accident. If you do not have these forms, Dr. Guthrie can provide them to you.
What to expect:
Even if you are a current office patient, expect the first visit to take about an hour. You will have additional forms to fill out. Dr. Guthrie will take a history of the injury and perform an exam. Treatment plan and consent will be discussed similarly to an initial chiropractic assessment. Dr. Guthrie will submit the required forms to WCB on your behalf, for in office treatment.
Out of pocket costs:
Dr. Guthrie will directly bill your insurance for a certain number of treatments depending on severity of the injury. You will not be required to pay out of pocket for injuries directly related to a car accident, provided you are receiving treatment within the specified treatment protocols.*
