Chiropractic Initial Assessment
If you have not seen Dr. Guthrie before, you will require an initial assessment.
Expected treatment time: Approx. 1 hr.

What to expect:
The doctor will review your main complaint and perform a thorough history and exam. If she considers this something she can immediately begin to treat, she will review your condition with you, including possible risks and approximate treatment duration. At this point the doctor will either begin treatment with your consent, or send you out for additional studies, if it is determined immediate treatment is not in your best interest.
As most people seeking treatment exhibit some level of pain, Dr. Guthrie prefers to treat on the initial visit, if deemed appropriate.
What to wear:
Though Dr. Guthrie does have gowns and shorts, please bring or wear loose, comfortable clothing. If you are coming in with a neck, upper back or shoulder injury, a tank top is preferred. If you have a hip or knee complaint, please bring or wear shorts.

What to expect:
Similar to an initial appointment, the doctor will perform a focused history and new exam on any changes since your last visit, or regarding your new injury. The current complaint and a modified treatment plan will be will be discussed. Consent will be reviewed and, if deemed appropriate, treatment will begin.
Adjunctive care could include the following:
Active release technique
Graston technique
Ultrasound
Ice or heat
PLEASE NOTE : a $25 adjunctive care fee will be added to every 15 minutes of treatment over your allotted appointment time.
Services that require additional fees:
Kinesiotape: $10 per application
Active graston therapy (30 minutes): $85
Internal coccyggeal adjustment (by MD referral only)

Dr. Guthrie is highly trained in a number of techniques, including Active release technique, Graston technique and Kinesiotaping. Your care will be tailored to meet your specific needs, and often will include very specific treatment reccommendations that will change depending on your phase of care.

Dr. Guthrie attempts to minimalize additional fees for modalities she employs within your allotted time slot, however if multiple injuries are requested to be addressed in the same visit, or the complexity of your case requires additional time for treatment, an adjunctive of fee may be added to your treatment plan.This will be discussed and reviewed at the time of your initial visit, or if your treatment plan changes.
